Effect of Corona Virus on overall Sports




2019-2020 corona virus that has swept across the globe in last few weeks the virus not only had a affect on public health, society, economy but it has also affected the sporting calendar due to the virus many professionals and armature leagues all around the world has postponed or suspended their leagues and seasons to avoid the gathering of large amount of people. NBA was the first professional sports league which was suspended the lost of this cancellation was estimated between 350 and 450 million dollars.

The spread of corona virus has impacted different sports events around the world:
CRICKET:
 The proposed seven-match series between Ireland and Bangladesh has been postponed. The games were scheduled to be held in Belfast & England in May.
Pakistan Super League is postponed, on the day the semi-finals were due to take place.
FOOTBALL
English football suspended until 30 April at the earliest, with the end of the 2019-20 season extended indefinitely.
 The Turkish Super Lag is suspended - the last major European league to do so.
HOCKEY:
Great Britain's FIH Pro League games on 2-3 May and 16-17 May are postponed.
 Great Britain's two fixtures against Hungary on 21 and 22 April are cancelled.

Due to the virus many of the business around the globe will get affected and it will also have a blowing affect on the sports industry which will disturb many of the stake holders and due to all this emergency situation and suspension of many sports events many of the agreements may be affected including sponsorship , broadcasting, vendors , manufacturing and ticketing. And this ill affect many stake holders and sports industry which may give a rise to unemployment rate but in this difficult situation all of us should help and respect the decisions of our authorities as they are working hard for the safety and good will of the people..

Pakistan Football Federation has been suspended by FIFA

  Pakistan Football Federation(PFF) has been suspended after PFF headquarters were taken over by Syed Ashfaq Shah and its group. The Federation was being run by a Normalization Committee which was appointed by FIFA. The Committee was headed by Haroon Malik. FIFA had deemed the takeover as illegal and had given an ultimatum to Syed Ashfaq Shah and its group to hand over the PFF control by March 31st or face overall suspension  It is understood that the ultimatum was ignored. FIFA released a statement that said that the bureau of the FIFA council suspended the PFF with immediate effect due to third party interference. “This situation was prompted by the recent hostile takeover of the PFF headquarters in Lahore by a group of protestors and an alleged decision by certain individuals to remove the FIFA-appointed normalization committee of the PFF led by Haroon Malik and to hand over the leadership of the PFF to Syed Ashfaq Hussain Shah,” said by FIFA However, it is hoped that the suspension

Premier league doctors not happy with football resumption as fear of players contracting coronavirus

Football has been suspended since March and different plans are being discussed how the came is to be restarted and when. It is most likely that “Project Restart” will be adopted, where games are to be played in neutral grounds by June. But the medics are showing their concerns and penned a letter to the Premier Leagues medical advisors. Some of the issues raised in the 100-point letter were  · Threat of death · Liability of the medics in case a player contracts coronavirus · Testing of the players · Transmission of the virus through sweat · Transmission of the virus through the goalkeeper’s gloves · Increase risk to the minority groups · Increase risk to employees · Emergency personals to be able to attend the training grounds Premier league medics were invited and asked to mention their concerns regarding the return of the game.
